Patchwork cushion and crochet blanket

I've been crafting away, which always makes me very happy. I've finished the cushion, and although it has mistakes, I'm really pleased with it. It's going to be hard to give it away, but I think my mum will appreciate the work that's gone into it. Hope so.

I've also been knitting...

Ha ha, not. These were at the Knit and Stitch show at Ally Pally, which I went to last Friday. I've been wanting to go for four years, but it's a really difficult time of year because of birthdays, but I made it for 4 hours and it was definitely well worth the trip. There was so much to be inspired by.

There was an incredibly detailed crochet coral reef in the entrance hall as well. It was such a shame I couldn't take my girls - I think they would have loved so much of all this. But we couldn't fit it in, because we had a birthday weekend.

I've also knuckled down with my crochet, which I love to do. I'm aiming to make a Cath Kidston-esque blanket, because I love granny square crocheting. So I've made a few centres...

and made quite a few squres, and it's coming along.

I'm edging each square in red and joining as I go, which is building it up very quickly. I just love looking into my crochet bag. A good use of the Tescos bag, methinks.

So I've been keeping busy.

As for the knitting ... what size biceps would you need to wield those gigantic needles ... great photo.

Hope all well with you.

Tatting chic - I thought that was rather funny! lol
Hi Dresden Plate - hearts are very difficult, and because I've never done patchwork and applique, I hadn't realized just how difficult!
Thanks Pam and Kelly - I am really pleased with it.
Melmel - it was a pleasure. I'm thrilled to see what you've done with it all.
Angel, lovely angel - it is easy peasy to crochet. Honestly. And it's very relaxing as a hobby.
Hi Lucy B, Mary, Elizabethd - thanks for leaving comments. Honestly, Lucy B, as I said to angel, it's easy to crochet.
Hi second wind and Lavender House - thanks for leaving comments. It was a good show, Emma, wasn't it!
